Abstract

This project aims to finance the visit of Prof. Anna Trubetskaya, an associate professor at the Faculty of Biosciences and Aquaculture at Nord University, Norway, to the laboratory of Prof. Camila Rezende at the Institute of Chemistry of Unicamp. The visit, planned to start in January 2025 lasting for 30 days, involve a collaborative study on sustainable marine biopolymers for biomedicine and pharmacy applications and will consolidate a collaboration between the research groups that began in 2022. So far, this collaboration has resulted in the submission of two research and teaching projects (UTFORK 2024, Project UTF-2024/10092: Sustainable Science Academic Network; and Sustainable Blue Economy Program, SBEP, Project: UNIDIVING UNIque commitment to bioDIVersity conservation through sustainable cascadING), as well as in the writing of a review article that is in the final stages of preparation. Several teaching and research activities are planned for Prof. Anna Trubetskaya's visit, including 1 course, 1 seminar, 1 workshop, experiments, visits to microbiology and pharmacy facilities at IQ and other faculties at Unicamp, at UNESP and CNPEM, scientific meetings with Prof. Camila and her students to discuss obtained results and future projects, among other activities. The visit will undoubtedly strengthen the partnership between the Brazilian and Norwegian institutions, as well as the scientific collaboration between the research groups and the students and researchers involved.
