Abstract

The parameters related to the size and shape of the aggregates and the energy related to the formation and scission of the structures are essential to comprehend the physicochemical properties of colloidal systems. In this sense, this work aims at the development of mixed self-aggregated systems formed by bile salts (sodium cholate, sodium deoxycholate and/or sodium taurodeoxycholate) conjugated with (i) lecithin and/or (ii) cellulose nanoparticles (nanofibrils and nanocrystals), to assist as a platform for encapsulation and controlled release of the drugs metronizadole and metronidazole benzoate. We propose the use of rheology, zeta potential, dynamic light scattering (DLS), small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS), and cryogenic transmission electron microscopy (Cryo-TEM) for the characterization of the rheological, surface charge, and structural characteristics of the mixed aggregates obtained. The present project aims to continue the proponent's research activities at the UFSCar campus Araras, since the previous resource FAPESP 2017/20006-4 was fundamental in the expansion of the Laboratory of Supramolecular Structures and Surfaces (LabESS), allowing the entry of postgraduate students, and, consequently, requires more resources to carry out research.
