Abstract

The present request for the use of the Institutional Technical Reserve includes items classified as Permanent and Consumable Materials to support the research lines of the Museum of Zoology of USP.The administration of the MZ, with the approval of the Research and Innovation Commission and the Deliberative Council of the Unit, has defined as priorities the acquisition of supplies, equipment, and materials necessary for the Scientific Division, aiming at the maintenance, expansion, and improvement of collections, laboratories, and research projects.Thus, the current proposal includes the purchase and acquisition of the following items:For all laboratories and collections with animals preserved in liquid medium: the acquisition of 8,300 glass jars for the proper storage of specimens;For collections with material stored in jars and liquid medium: the acquisition of 120 steel drawers (classified as consumable items), in compliance with safety standards required by the fire department;For the Multiuser Molecular Biology Laboratory: the acquisition of supplies for DNA extraction and quantification and a high-performance computer.The total value of this request is R$ 117,095.74, and its implementation will directly impact the quality of research activities, the preservation and accessibility of the collections, and the scientific infrastructure of the entire Scientific Division.
