Abstract

Among the challenges for improving children's health, highlights include: increased vaccination coverage; patient safety; reduction in maternal and child mortality rates; and control and mitigation of the effects and consequences arising from the COVID-19 pandemic. In this sense, educational actions aimed at promoting health and preventing diseases and injuries among families with children, as well as for student training and ongoing education of healthcare/nursing professionals, are strategic and essential for improving the health of the child population. There is a range of active strategies and innovative technologies that can be used in education, with a focus on clinical simulation. Simulation is an active and effective strategy capable of positively impacting the participant's teaching and learning process. This proposal consists of application and methodological studies for the development and validation of digital simulated technologies and simulated scenarios, as well as randomized clinical trials, quasi-experiments, and experiments for impact evaluation, with an emphasis on simulation-based experiences for health/nursing education: 1. Serious game simulated in virtual reality "Vaccine Room", applicable in clinical practice and in the training of human resources, alongside students and healthcare/nursing professionals; 2. Serious game simulated in virtual reality "Neonatal Patient Safety", aimed at undergraduate students and healthcare/nursing professionals; 3. In situ simulation on breastfeeding, aimed at the health education of pregnant and lactating women and their families in the context of the Family Health Strategy; 4. In situ clinical simulation on nursing care for children in Long Covid situations, in the context of Primary Health Care, targeting nursing students and professionals; 5. Telesimulation with an educational video on newborn bathing, capable of facilitating the educational process for postpartum women, undergraduates, and nursing professionals. (AU)
