Planning, development and evaluation of teaching materials for chemistry teaching, articulating the STEAM perspective

Abstract

This project aims to develop and evaluate educational materials for Chemistry and Science teaching, integrating educational technologies and the STEAM perspective (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics). The proposal aligns with the Brazilian National Common Curricular Base (BNCC), emphasizing essential competencies and skills for student learning. The focus is on Environmental Chemistry and Green Chemistry, fostering direct connections with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The materials will be structured through Multi-Strategic Didactic Units (UDM), incorporating active learning methodologies such as Project-Based Learning (PBL) and the Three Pedagogical Moments (3MP). The project also includes an evaluation phase involving teachers and pre-service educators to ensure practical applicability. In addition to producing multimodal and multi-strategic educational resources, such as videos, podcasts, and low-cost experiments, teacher training courses will be provided. The implementation analysis will be conducted using qualitative research based on content analysis, supported by the MAXQDA software. Ultimately, this initiative seeks to provide innovative approaches to Chemistry teaching, promoting interdisciplinary and contextualized learning experiences. (AU)
