Abstract

This research project comprises some lines of investigation recently coordinated by the author. We will present here some lines of research involving quadratic gravity, as well as the study of scattering amplitudes in superstring theories and in gauge and gravitation theories. In the latter case, we are also particularly interested in the calculation of classical observables. This is achieved by treating general relativity as an effective field theory and identifying the non-analytic parts of the gravitational scattering amplitude. On the other hand, we plan to start a line of research based on the so-called celestial holography. In turn, we will also explore here a line of research incorporated into the area of inflationary cosmology. In this context, we plan to explore a possible alternative to inflation that uses the indefinite causal framework of higher derivative theories. The usual macroscopic causality is then emergent after the early phase of the universe. The indefinite causal behavior provides the isotropy of the early universe. Furthermore, we also present here two lines of research involving general theory of elementary particles, namely, the effective field theory for the Standard Model and an alternative model to unification. Finally, we will discuss a line of research that intends to use a systematic approach to study the physics of entanglement associated with the S-matrix. (AU)
