Abstract

The project proposes the creation of the Center for Research and Innovation in Equity, Physical Education and Paralympic Sport, based at the Faculty of Physical Education at UNICAMP, with the aim of promoting access for people with disabilities to physical activity and sport in different contexts, such as school, leisure, health and high-performance. Aligned with the principles of the UN 2030 Agenda, the project focuses on SDGs 3 (Health and Well-being), 4 (Quality Education), 10 (Reduced Inequalities) and 17 (Partnerships for Implementation). The proposal is structured around two main lines: Equity and Inclusive Physical Education, which aims to include parasports in the school curriculum and train teachers for inclusive action, and Initiation and High Performance in Paralympic Sport, which focuses on strategies to increase access, permanence and performance of young people with disabilities in Paralympic sport. Based on UNICAMP's historical trajectory in Paralympic sports and inclusive education, the center will be staffed by researchers and professionals with extensive experience and contributions to Brazilian Paralympic sports. The center's infrastructure will include technical support and a qualified multidisciplinary team, in addition to coordination with public schools, administrators, athletes and Paralympic sports confederations. The main goal is to structure public policies that consolidate Paralympic sports as a right and not a privilege, creating a replicable model of public educational policy for Paralympic sports and promoting the inclusion of people with disabilities.
