Abstract
This research project aims to develop and apply a methodology for the continuous and multidimensional assessment of the social impacts arising from the outcomes of research, development, and innovation (RDI) agreements signed between funding agencies and companies. The proposal represents a continuation of efforts to assess impacts in RDI and is distinguished by the exploration of new approaches in analysis, evaluation, and quantification of social impact, positioning itself at the frontier of knowledge in this area. The methodology to be developed will focus on selecting relevant information sources, identifying, and validating specific indicators, developing efficient mechanisms for information collection and storage, and applying analytical techniques that reveal social impacts in a detailed and meaningful manner. This multidimensional approach seeks not only to map the extent and relevance of the impacts but also to guide the continuous improvement of practices in fostering collaborative RDI. Additionally, the project includes conducting a pilot evaluation based on the set of projects supported by FAPESP in collaboration with companies. It is expected that the outcomes of this research will contribute to the field of impact assessment, providing a robust and adaptable tool for funding agencies, companies, and other stakeholders interested in understanding the social impacts of their RDI activities. Finally, the dissemination of the results through scientific publications and presentations at relevant events will foster greater awareness of the importance of social impact assessment, encouraging the practice of systematic evaluations in various contexts.
