Abstract

This Annual Plan for the Application of the Technical Reserve for Institutional Research Infrastructure (RTI) is intended for the Expansion of the CEBIMar/USP Multi-User Equipment Center (CeMar), specifically for the installation of infrastructure for the marine mesocosm and the Scientific Diving Station. The estimated application value is R$ 283,468.50. The requested resources complement strategic investments already underway, including the revitalization of the seawater intake system and the completion of the implementation of the Scientific Diving Station, totaling a modernization investment that reaches R$ 614,035.00. The mesocosm will be an open experimental infrastructure, supplied with continuous flowing seawater, capable of reproducing natural fluctuations and allowing experimental control of variables such as temperature, pH, salinity, dissolved oxygen, luminosity, and nutrients. The budget is distributed among Third-Party Services (R$ 211,000.00), Consumable Material (R$ 32,500.00), and Permanent Material (R$ 39,968.50). The implementation of this infrastructure will significantly expand CEBIMar's investigative capacity in topics of high global relevance, such as the impacts of climate change and ocean acidification. All items will be integrated into CeMar, ensuring shared use by internal and external researchers in alignment with FAPESP's guidelines for multi-user infrastructure and operational sustainability.
