Abstract

The main objective of the project is to make possible the collaboration between Laurent Véray - a leading reference in the study of film history, in particular newsreels and the relations between cinema and history - and the researchers involved in the Thematic Project "Audiovisual, History and Preservation: the place of Brazilian newsreels and television news reports in the construction of memory (1946-1974)", grant no. 2022/06032-0, as well as in the CNPq research group "History and Audiovisual: circularities and forms of communication".The aims of this collaboration are: (1) to deepen the scientific foundations of the project; (2) to discuss the methods employed, based on different realities; (3) to develop methods that are even more appropriate for the examination of serial material, such as the television production and newsreels that make up its corpus; and (4) to consolidate the integration of the project and the group into an international research network.
