The wave packet formalism in the study of differential equations in relativistic quantum mechanics

Abstract

We aim to study the behavior of relativistic wave packets in tunnelling, diffusion and oscillation quantum phenomena. In particular, we would like to discuss the Klein-Gordon and Dirac equation in presence of electrostatic potentials. The preliminary discussion will be performed by using mass-eigenstates. The introduction of flavor eigenstates play a fundamental role in understanding quantum oscillation phenomena. The study will be extended to localized light beams propagating through stratified dielectric. (AU)
