Quality corn silage inoculated with microbial additive and their effects on performance, nutritional characteristics and of lambs carcass

Abstract

This study will have as objective to evaluate the effect of bacterial inoculants homolactic and heterolactic and their associations, on the fermentation and aerobic stability of corn silage, as well as performance, ruminal fermentation, intake and nutrient digestibility and efficiency of microbial protein synthesis lambs fed these silages with additives. In addition to assessing proportions of concentrate in the diet composed of corn silage inoculated or not with bacteria heterolactic on performance and nutritional characteristics and carcass of lambs. This way, will be held four phases. In phase 1, will be prepared silages inoculated with microbial additives and their associations in experimental silos, which will be determined in the loss of dry matter (DM) of gases occurred during fermentation, chemical composition and nutritional value as well as the levels of MS, ammonia, organic acids, pH and counts of yeasts and molds during aerobic stability of silage. In phase 2, will be selected two of the best additives or their associations for making silos type surface to study the effect of microbial additives in the opening post of scale silos. In the third phase will be evaluated performance and nutritional characteristics of lambs fed only corn silage inoculated with the best additives selected in phase 1. Based on the values of microbial efficiency determined in phase 3 will define the levels of concentrate for studies of stage 4, seeking to reach an optimal level to maximize the efficiency of microbial protein synthesis.
