Abstract

This project aims at an experimental study of the phenomenon of distillation of a solution of ammonia / water in order to produce ammonia vapor of high purity, with an index greater than 99.9%, ideal for use in absorption refrigeration cycles ammonia / water. The main interest focuses on the use of film technology descendants with the use of microchannels for heating the solution and release of ammonia vapor.For this, we intend to build an experimental circuit properly instrumented to obtain relevant parameters of the process of simultaneous transfer of heat mass that will occur. This circuit is provided with additional components such as evaporator, condenser, expansion valve, pump solution, among others, in order to obtain an operating cycle, but at laboratory scale and control in order to obtain the controlling parameters of performance and functioning, such as mixture flow, temperature, concentration and operating temperatures. Finally, this project is relevant within the context of rational use of energy, particularly the development will contribute to cycles of heat absorption of ammonia / water for use in cogeneration systems or even trigeneration. There is to inform you that the only manufacturer of such equipment employs an old technology based column with plates, which justifies the use of new technologies such as film descendants. (AU)
