Observatory of Contemporary Brazilian Portuguese Neologisms

The project Observatory of Contemporary Brazilian Portuguese Neologisms, created in 1988, aims to answer a double function: the description of the general neology collected from the contemporary Brazilian press, and the description of the neology collected from some scientific and technical languages. Complementarly to this second goal, the project also intends to make terminological dictionaries in some of the studied areas. Some information have already been showed in the Project site ( such as: applied methodology, quantitative data about the results, research on the general neology database (search of neologisms in the Contemporary Brazilian Portuguese Neologism Database). We intend to extend the acess to the Project´s data by means of: 1. displaying more data of the Brazilian Portuguese Neologism Database (search of neologisms by means of prefixes, suffixes and bound bases; search of neologisms according to their formation process; 2. displaying of articles in the Economy area, based on Economy Terminology Database materials.
