Abstract

The objective of this research project is to study and implement a control of active and reactive power of a doubly-fed induction generator as an alternative to synchronous generators for use in wind farms and small hydroelectric power plants connected the buses in the power system. It is proposed to study methods of controlling doubly-fed induction generator, first through the techniques of computer simulation using mathematical models of the system under study and then by implementing a prototype of reduced power in the laboratory. In this paper already shows a proposed control with simulation results that allow us to infer the feasibility of the project proposal. Other proposals could be studied and presented during the development of this work. (AU)
