Parasitic hymenoptera (Insecta, Hymenoptera) associated to Lepdopterous (Insecta, Lepidoptera) in coffee crop Coffea arabica L. (Rubiaceae) in Cravinhos, SP, Brazil

Abstract

This project has for objective identify the parasitic hymenoptera of Lepidoptera larvae associated to the crop coffee, establish the host/parasitoid relations, study the population fluctuation and the influence of climatic factors on those populations. The sampling, carried through light and Moericke traps, was made weekly from may/2005 to april/2007 in a coffee crop located at Cravinhos, SP; in the same period the sampling of the coffee leaf-mine was carried through. The insects had been directed to APTA Regional Centro Leste where previous selection for withdrawal of the hemerobiids occurred; the remaining material was conserved in ETOH 70%. The second part of the sampling, destined to establish the relations host-parasitoids, will be carried through collect of larvae of Lepidoptera in the same local of the previous sampling. The samplings, biweekly, will beginning in September/2007 and they will be extended until July/2008. The larvae collected will be individualized in glass vial, kept in BOD and fed with leaves of coffee until the emergency of the adults and/or parasitoids. The adults of parasitoids will be mounted in entomological pins and identified at specific level, when possible. The not identified Lepidoptera and parasitoids will be directed the specialists for identification. The following data will be evaluated: amostral effort, wealth of species, the indices of diversity of Shannon and Simpson, the equitability of Hill and the relations between the populations of Hymenoptera and of the larvae of Lepidoptera.
