Abstract

The study of excess properties has been a qualitative and quantitative way to provide information about ideality deviation in binary liquid mixtures. Moreover, the excess properties have been used to develop and to test solution models and theories. As a continuation of experimental study and modeling of excess properties of binary liquid mixtures, in this study excess molar volume, excess viscosity, excess activation Gibbs energy and excess compressibility of binary liquids mixtures containing ionic liquids and amines will be determined as a function of composition at several temperatures and atmospheric pressure. The systems studied will be: [BMIM][PF6] + n-butylamine, [BMIM][PF6] + diethylamine and [BMIM][PF6] + trietylamine over whole the composition range at temperatures of T = 288.15, 293.15, 298.15 and 303.15 K. The excess molar volumes data will be used to calculate other volumetric properties such as partial molar volumes, excess partial molar volumes, partial molar volumes at dilution infinite and apparent molar volumes of each component. The data will still be used to test the applicability of the Prigogine-Flory-Patterson Theory (PFP Theory). (AU)
