Abstract

This project aims to verify, in two subsequent periods and in the same area, the stability of entomological indicators for Aedes aegypti, as well as assess the existence of clusters in homes where pupae are found. This study will be performed in the district of Jaguaré, in São José do Rio Preto's northern urban area, with a sample of 3,250 homes, between January and February of 2009. Visits will be made to these homes to obtain entomological indicators associated with Aedes aegypti larvae and pupae. All the information gathered will be geocoded by address on the city's cartographic base with street segments. Assessment of continuance of home positivity for the vector in this survey in relation to previous research will be conducted by means of odds ratio calculation. Pupal productivity will be calculated according to types of homes, location and types of containers. Moreover, results will be compared to those found in a previous survey. Global, local and focal spatial statistics will be used to identify clusters of homes with pupae. (AU)
