Abstract
The use of sunscreens has been considered of utmost relevance not only from the public healthy viewpoint, in function of the augment of the skin cancers, as the well from the cosmetic field, since the Brazilian population has longer life expectation and the healthy skin appearance during aging is required. The exposition to ultraviolet (UV) radiation causes the acceleration of the cutaneous ageing and the use of sunscreens is a preventive action that delays some of its symptoms. There is a tendency to the development of innovative sunscreens with acceptable sensorial characteristics for several skin types and ages, reduction of UV filter concentration trying to minimize the incidence of adverse effects, and with high efficacy against UVA-UVB radiations. In the context of the utilization of natural raw materials in cosmetic products, involving national and international markets, this research project will use and evaluate, comparatively, the rutin and the succinic rutin (obtained from "clean organic synthesis" and analyzed by physicochemical, chemical and functional parameters). This proposal will evaluate the in vitro cytotoxicity of the succinic rutin, to achieve its safe utilization, the antioxidant activity and the anti-UVB photoprotection efficacy (in vitro estimation), comparatively to rutin, associated to chemical UV filters in aqueous gel. The project presents range, meets the national and international cosmetic market necessities, potential of applicability with innovative concepts, motivating the scientific research of bioactive substances from Brazilian flora which brings the Brazil into more evidence from the science and market points of view.
