Abstract

Aging is a reality to which health professionals need to be prepared. The functionality is closely related to cognitive aspects, and the hearing is one of the pillars for the maintenance of functionality, which is why actions can contribute to innovative diagnostic and intervention in the field of aging. Objectives: To characterize and compare the ratings of people in the aging process in relation to aspects of peripheral and central auditory and cognitive and experimental interventions in the listening area, compared to a control group. Method: Phase 1 - Mapping (screening) and assessment of areas of hearing and cognition, which will be evaluated 300 subjects aged between 50 and 80 years divided into three age groups as follows: 50 to 59 years and 11 months, 60 to 69 years and 11 months and 70 to 80 years old.; phase 2: intervention and revaluation of 20% of this population, always divided into three age groups. The intervention is to be held formal hearing training for 8 weeks, lasting 50 minutes each session, and all will be re-evaluated 3 months after intervention. (AU)
