Longitudinal study of the bond strength to the dental substrates of adhesive systems with or without Nd: YAG laser

Abstract

This study will assess the immediate bond strength (48h) and longitudinal (12 months) of adhesive systems (self-etch and total-etch adhesives) to enamel and dentin, with or without the Nd: YAG laser. Two-hundred and forty bovine teeth enamel or dentin will be used, divided into 8 groups (n = 15): G1: AC /enamel (Clearfil SE Bond self-etch adhesive on enamel), G2: AC / dentin (Clearfil SE Bond self-etch adhesive on dentin); G3: AL / enamel (Clearfil SE Bond self-etch adhesive on enamel + Nd: YAG laser 140mJ/10Hz + photopolymerization) G4: AL / dentin (Clearfil SE Bond self-etch adhesive on dentin + Nd: YAG laser 120mJ/10Hz + photopolymerization) G5: CC / enamel (Single Bond 2 total-etch on enamel) and G6: CC / dentin (Single Bond 2 total-etch adhesive on dentine); G7: CL / enamel (Single Bond 2 total-etch on enamel + Nd: YAG laser 140mJ/10Hz + photopolymerization) G8: CL / dentin (Single Bond 2 total-etch on dentin + Nd: YAG laser 120mJ/10Hz + photopolymerization). The composite resin Z-350 will be inserted in teflon matrix and light cured. After storage for 48 h or 12 months in distilled water at 37 ° C, the sections will be held in the teeth to obtain samples with adhesive area of 1 mm2, followed by microtensile test. The experiment was designed in a factorial scheme (2x2x2). For the variation of bond strength according to each substrate evaluated, will be held the three-factor ANOVA followed by Tukey test (5%). SEM will be held for further examination of the hybrid layer. (AU)
