Clinical evaluation of diferent protocols for the treatment of dentin hypersensitivity

Abstract

Numerous agents and desensitizing techniques have been used for the relief of pain arising from dentine hypersensitivity in non-carious cervical lesions. Given the lack of clinical protocols that meet the difficulty of treatment, this clinical work is to evaluate different treatment protocols for tooth sensitivity with low power laser (dosage range), high power laser and associations, for a period of 06 months. After analyzing the patterns of inclusion and exclusion of volunteers participating in the study will be selected patients who experience pain from non-carious cervical lesions. The lesions are divided into nine groups (n = 10): G1: Gluma Desensitizer (Heraeus Kulzer), G2: Low level laser (Twin Laser / MMOptics), G3: Low level laser (Laser Photon / DMC), G4: Low power laser (Twin Laser) + Gluma Desensitizer, G5: Low level laser (Photon Laser) + Gluma Desensitizer, G6: Laser Nd: YAG (Lares Research), G7. Laser Nd: YAG Gluma + Desensitizer, G8: Laser Nd: YAG Laser + low intensity (Twin Laser); G9 Laser Nd: YAG Laser + low intensity (Photon Laser). The sensitivity level of each volunteer will be assessed by visual analog scale of pain with the aid of air-way syringe with explorer and exploration after 5 minutes, 1 week, 1, 3 and 06 months of treatment. Data will be collected and subjected to statistical analysis. (AU)
