Serum proteinogram and humoral imune response of bovines naturally infected by Trypanosoma vivax

Abstract

The goal of this project is determines the electrophoretic profile of the serum proteins and humoral immune response of Girolanda cattle naturally infected with Trypanosoma vivax, using 500 serum samples, already collected and stored under refrigeration (-80ºC), from a naturally infected herd and 50 serum samples from healthy Girolanda cattle, from non-endemic area for this hemoparasite. For serum protein identification and quantification, electrophoretic fractionation will be carried out in polyacrylamide gel containing sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS-PAGE), and Indirect Fluorescent Antibody Test (IFAT) and Enzime-linked Immunosorbent assay (ELISA test) will be performed by for anti-T. vivax antibody's determination.
