Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate the relation between the diabetes mellitus with tissue response and capacity of mineralization of sealers Sealapex®, Ângelus MTA® e o MTA Fillapex®. Twenty-four rats will be divided in two groups with twelve animals each: group 1: normal rats, group 2: diabetics rats induced for Aloxano. All animals individually will receive four polyethylene tubes: three tubes will be filled with sealers and one tube will remain empty used as control. At 7, 15 and 21 days injections of fluorochormes (calcein, alizarin and oxytetracycline) will be applied. After 07 and 30 days, six animals of each group will be killed and the tubes with surrounding tissues will be removed, fixed in formalin, processed for glycol methacrylate embedding, and stained with hematoxylin and eosin, Von Kossa, or not stained for polarized light and fluorescence. Reactions in the tissue in contact with the material on the opening of the tube will receive scores as 0, none or few inflammatory cells and no reaction; 1, less than 25 cells and mild reaction; 2, between 25 and 125 cells and moderate reaction; and 3, 125 and more cells and severe reaction. Fibrous capsules will be considered to be thin when thickness was <150 µm and thick at >150 µm. Calcification will be recorded as present or absent. Results will be statistically analysis by Anova e Krukal Wallis test. (AU)
