Abstract

The purpose of this project is focused on the synthesis and characterization of photochromic organic-inorganic hybrid (HOI) materials containing tungsten (PWA) and molybdenum polyoxometalates (PMo) by sol gel process on polyethylene terephtalate (PET) flexible substrate by using inkjet technique. Hybrids so-called di and tri-ureasils containing different polymer chain length and concentration of polyoxometalates will be prepared in order to evaluate the effect of these parameters on photochromic properties with potential application in totally flexible devices. Physical chemical parameters such as viscosity and surface tension of the HOI sols and printing conditions such as waveform, drop velocity and also drop spacing will be determined in order to obtain the best printing conditions. In addition, surface treatment by using modified alkoxides (amino, epoxy and fluoralkoxides) will be performed on PET to obtain good wettability between substrate and HOI. (AU)
