The aim of this project is to uncover the current conditions of bottom valley landscaping in cities of the State of São Paulo, which have already been historically raised, trying to understand how the community has been organizing such spaces; with their diversity and discontinuities, by checking the characteristics and the structuring elements. Besides, it also intends to observe how circulation and intersections occur. In short, it aims at reading the bottom valley landscaping based on ways of organizations and the history of the place. In order to achieve such goals, some reading keys will be used: analyze the landscape of the bottom valley as a cultural representation, through maps, aerial photos, photographs and paintings; analyze it as a territory built and inhabited, but recognizing the complexity of the relations among rivers and cities, their conflicts and contradictions throughout the history of the cities, which have been shaped according to cultural values; analyze the bottom valley landscapes as a system, taking into account the complexity of the landscape. Finally, the bottom valley landscape will be analyzed as a design, identifying the existence of urban landscaping projects which involve bottom valley areas and their inclusion in master plans (participated or not) in the investigated cities of the State of São Paulo.
