Abstract

The purpose of this study is to perform the characterization, evaluation and formation of a germplasm bank of sweet potato clones collected at Vale do Ribeira. For this, Will be carried collections on rural and caiçaras communities and maroons of Vale do Ribeira - SP, Brazil. After, these clones will be multiplied. The evaluation and characterization of clones will occur at the Experimental Farm of the Universidade Estadual Paulista, Campus Experimental de Registro. Will be performed the morphological characterization vegetative and root, and evaluated the total production; classification of roots; commercial production of roots; percentage of commercial production of roots; production of fresh branches; total production of dry matter in branches; percentage of dry matter in branches; total production of dry matter in roots; percentage of dry matter in roots; density of root; determination of total sugars and starch. The average data will be submitted to analysis of variance by F test and the means will compared by Skott Knott test at 5% using the Genes. To complement the study will be analysis of genetic similarity among accessions obtained through molecular analysis. (AU)
