Abstract

The objective will be evaluate the effect of self-etching adhesives on composite cores shear bond strength to dentin, using the resin-coating technique. A low-viscosity resin composite coating (Protect Liner F- PL), two acidic monomers based-dentin bonding agents and their respective composite resin cores (CRC) will be tested (Clearfil Mega Bond - CB and DC Core Paste- DC; Unifil Bond - UB and Unifil Core-UC). Dentin surfaces will be wet-abraded with 600-grit SíC paper. Experimental groups comprised the use of adhesive systems-and their respective CRC with or without intermediary application of the PL and with (A) or without CRC light activation (S). Three cylinders of CRC (1.5 mm high and 0.8 mm diameter) will be applied on each bonded dentin surface (n = 12), using a tygon tubing mold. After storage for 24 h, bonds will be tested by micro-shear testing, in a universal machine (Instron - 0. 5mm/min). (AU)
