The action of Dr. Samuel Yerushalmi as a Visiting Research Fellow sponsored by Fapesp is based on the fortifying of the “Local/Regional Innovation Systems” (LIS/RIS) in São Paulo State. The fortifying of the LIS/RIS contributes for, between others, three fundamental questions: (1) incentives and sustainability of technology entrepreneurship in Science & Technology Parks environments; (2) a more integrated action of the venture capital institutions; (3) ‘corporate governance’ solutions addressed to public policies and the science, technology and innovation infrastructure. It will be expected that his presence contributes to think and act upon these 3 questions mentioned above, considering the joint competences in professional and scholar activities, expertise in start-ups and spin-offs of technology based firm, like CEO/General Manager at Kiryat Weizmann Technological Incubator (ITEK, Israel) and the authorship of 23 scientific papers, 47 lectures, and 8 international patents of medical devices.
