The aim of this research plan is to study the superconducting transport and magnetic properties of the MgB2 compound, doped with carbon nanotubes, and the Bi1.64Pb0.64Sr2Ca2Cu30y (Bi-2223) doped with Fe203 nanoparticles. Also, we are interested in studying the dissipation mechanisms of the vortices in these polycrystalline samples. We will concentrate efforts to elaborate new procedures in order to produce Bi-2223 superconducting materials doped with magnetic and nonmagnetic nanoparticles. A central problem, in this case, is to obtain a route in which the nanoparticles do not react with the Bi-2223 phase. In addition to this, several physical characterizations will be performed on these samples to verify the desired improvements on the magnetic flux pinning matter. (AU)
