Abstract

Graded algebras and graded identities play an important role in Ring theory. These have been studied by various algebraists during the lastdecades, and also proved an indispensable tool in studying nonassociative algebras. They often arise with the need of the applications ofAlgebra. In the present project we shall study the gradings on associative and Lie algebras and the graded identities satisfied by such gradings. More precisely we shall study group actions by finite groups on the Lie algebra of the traceless matrices of order two and the corresponding identities. We shall also study group actions on other simple Lie and Jordan algebras. (AU)
