Abstract

In this work we investigate the dynamics of vortices for a mesoscopic superconducting disk. Within the TDGL approach, no vortex configuration is assumed a priori, neither if any number of vortex has already penetrated the sample. Under an external applied magnetic field, should we have any nucleation of vortices, they will spontaneously be formed at the surface and then find the equilibrium positions in order to minimize the free energy. Relying on the TDGL equations, we argue that the vortex state can only be possible if a small deformation of the surface is made. We investigate the vortex dynamics of this system and calculate important physical quantities like the magnetization. (AU)
