Abstract

The main activities of the visiting researcher, Prof. S.C. Ying, during his visit to the Materials and Sensors Laboratory at INPE, will consist in the active participation in the joint research project "Dynamics, topological defects and phase transitions in ordered media". Prof. Ying is a member of the research team of this project. The research will focus on the investigation of the "Sliding friction of adsorbed layers and stability of epitaxial films", which are two central topics considered in the research project. The visiting professor will also present seminars in the Institute and will also be available to give presentations in other institutions that may be interested. (AU)
