Abstract

The planned activities during the visit include field trips, data analysis and discussion of the results of ongoing projects, chats about future projects, lectures at Universities and meetings with other research groups. The researcher will visit the field site of my project supported by FAPESP (Santa Genebra Forest - seasonal semi-deciduous forest) and will also visit one of the sites of the project BIOTA Functional Gradient (Serra do Mar State Park - ombrophilous dense forest). He will give a lecture at the Bioscience Institute of USP, where he will meet the research group of the Tropical Forest Ecology Laboratory, coordinated by Dr. Alexandre A. Oliveira, and a lecture at the Biology Institute of UNICAMP, where there will be an extra time to chat with some students. The visiting researcher will also visit the Forestry Institute, where he will meet with plant ecology researchers and chat about the activities developed at the institute and about a variety of ongoing projects. Other planned activities include data analysis and discussion about the results of my two projects supported by FAPESP (regular project funding and fellowship to an undergraduate student) and also about data of an ended project which has some papers in preparation. Moreover, there will be time to develop ideas about a future project on plant-plant interactions in Brazilian forests. (AU)
