Abstract
Most of the current Grid management systems focus the development and application scheduling. In such context, those environments could evolve in optimization aspects by considering application knowledge. Most of the management systems still require application rewriting. Those limitations motivated the MidHPC (Middleware for High Performance Computing) project which provides a middleware for the execution of parallel applications developed according the concurrent paradigm. MidHPC evolved in different topics, which motivate new researches, mainly considering Grid data access. This subject is currently one of the greatest limitations to real-world Grid computing application. Such need has motivated this work which addresses the study, proposal and performance evaluation of bioinspired techniques to reduce the data access costs on heterogeneous environments. (AU)
