Abstract

The main purpose of this proposal is the study of the adsorptionprocess of single stranded DNA of Leishmania (Vianna) Brasiliensis ongold electrodes. As a result of this study we expect to create thenecessary conditions for the production of a new detection protocol ofLeishmaniosis through the blood serum as well as the determination ofthe species that caused the contagion. The study will be based on thedetermination of the self assembly process of the single stranded DNAmodified by a thiol group adsorbed on single crystalline goldelectrodes using Scanning Tunneling Microscopy. The hybridizationprocess will be monitored through the use of Surface Enhanced RamanSpectroscopy on roughened gold electrodes. (AU)
