Biocatalysis has been established as a powerful tool in organic synthesis. The enzyme-catalyzed reactions mostly distinguished by their high chemo-, regio- and stereo-selectivity. In this project we will present different topics related to the use of enzymatic reactions in organic synthesis. We will study the application of enzymatic reactions involving organic compounds containing heteroatoms such as B, Si and Sn. In addition to the reactions catalyzed by commercial enzymes, we intend to pursue and characterize microbial alcohol dehydrogenases for application in enantioselective bioreduction of ketones and enantioselective oxidation of secondary alcohols. From other projects, we have isolated several bacteria, which the enzymatic activity was excellent (alcohol dehydrogenase), then in this project, we intend to carry out the bacterial genome sequencing. Finally, we intent to study how the activity of Burkholderia cepacia lipase and porcine pancreas immobilized on Ag-Au nanoparticles can be influenced by changing the particles surface with different organic compounds.
