We propose to strengthen the collaborative efforts between University of São Paulo (Laboratory of Natural Product Chemistry) and University of Nevada at Reno by means of establishing a multidisciplinary graduate training program that includes theoretical and practical courses. The integrative program should be extended during the next 3-5 years and will enroll graduate and undergraduate courses including recent advances in organic chemistry and molecular ecology to bring the field of chemical ecology to a new standard. The timing for a new program in chemical ecology is perfect due to the significant advances in organic chemistry and molecular ecology, as well as the current nonexistence of a specific graduate program in chemical ecology involving common themes between US and Brazil.
