Abstract

The performance and productivity of poultry in brazilian trade are ensured by modern management techniques, nutrition, facilities and strongly by poultry health. It has been observed in the country, also, significant evolution of the semi-intensive and organic systems. In sanitary management, biosecurity standards should be rigorously adopted as a preventive action. Considering the technical and health advances in sciences poultry, parasitosis is an important part in the development of biosecurity programs. When present, helminthiasis affect the performance of birds, causing direct or indirect losses. This research aims to develop two sub-projects, with the goal of contributing to the knowledge of avian parasites (helminths) in São Paulo state. The study will be developed in different municipalities of the state of São Paulo, being covered 50 cities from 24 microregions of ten mesoregions of the São Paulo state, which are more effective participation in birds. In addition to the registration and application of general information questionnaire, parasitological procedures will be adopted as coproparasitological examinations, parasitological necropsies and collecting of intermediate hosts in each season (summer, autumn, winter and spring). Results are expected to base improvements in prevention and health control in poultry. (AU)
