Abstract

We apply for the visit of Luís Frederico Dias Antunes, researcher of the Instituto de Investigação Científica Tropical (Institute of Scientific Tropical Investigation - Portugal), to contribute to research projects on Social History of Africa at the Graduate Program of History and at the Centre of Research on Social History of the Culture - CECULT, at UNICAMP. His stay (from 19th February to 20th July) includes the straight collaboration in researches conducted by professors and graduate students for doctorate degree, as well as the participation in meetings of the Research Group on Social History of Africa, when he will get in touch with other graduate students. The planning of activities also includes the realization of a "Portuguese Africas and the Atlantic world" workshop, conferences and lectures at UNICAMP, USP, UNIFESP, UFF and UFBA, and the offering of a course for under-graduate students. His knowledge about historical sources for the history of East Africa will help the professors of Social History of Africa to elaborate a list of historical sources in Portuguese, Brazilian and Mozambican archives to be acquired or reproduced, in order to create more solid conditions for the development of researches in this area at UNICAMP. Finally, his stay among us will contribute to strength the collaboration between the two institutions, already initiated along 2012. (AU)
