Abstract

The Brazilian Jewish Historical Archive it's a non-profit institution maintained by partner's contributions and compromised with the preservation of collections related to Jewish immigration and permanence in Brazil. Since its foundation, the BJHA has been gathering, through private and institutional donations, a rich documentary collection related to Jewish immigration and Jew's life in Brazil, forming, therefore, a collection of documentary sources on the history of community, of institutions, of personalities and ordinary people. The collection is composed by textual documents, newspaper library, library, photographs, audiovisuals and objects. It has two important cores: Genealogy and Oral History. The BJHA submitted, and approved, the project Infrastructure to preserve Brazilian Jewish Historical Archive's collection. (Procedure FAPESP n? 09/54951-0) on the program of support to research infrastructure - FAPESP's information depositaries, documents and/or biological collection. Therefore, the Action Plan, now suggested, to the utilization of Technical Reserve resources, it's a complementation of the developed project. It is required the acquisition of a scanner to implement Archive's documents and photography scan - subject of most researches and requests; acquisition of two computers to support archive descriptions in the data base and document's scan; acquisition of internal drive to improve storage on the server acquired to the project; acquisition of no-break to optimize security on the computer's network and finally, acquisition of two more hard disks for backup scanned documents.
