Abstract
The aim of this work is to develop numerical tools for the analysis of the mechanical behavior of steal fiber reinforced concrete structural members, which must be able to describe the cracking and crushing process of the quasi-brittle matrix, the nonlinear behavior of the reinforcements and the degradation process of the joint interfaces between the distinct components. The proposed contributions will provide a better understanding of the complex behavior of reinforced concrete members and can be applied as a tool for the design of new structures as well as for the safety evaluation, reparation and reinforcement solutions of existing structures. It is intended to perform numerical analysis with the finite element method, using embedded crack elements, strong discontinuity approach and fragmentation technique, in mesoscopic and macroscopic scales. The numerical results will be compared with experimental results from the literature. (AU)
