Abstract

The context of contemporary photography practice is governed by technological innovations introduced by the digital universe. The information culture, with its hybrid devices, software and various social networks establishes a dynamic circulation of images that defines the numerical as a new epistemological condition for the construction of knowledge. In this sense, the idea of document quite aligned with the conventional photographic practice, lies in reconfiguration, which will affect inevitably social roles that were always attributed to photography because, overwhelmingly, this has always been practiced as technique representation of reality. Through critical analysis of literature and mapping technologies and contemporary photographic productions, this project will seek to observe the photography in the practices of the information culture, assuming that a new consciousness of sense for document is now required, which resets the potential for sense in photography.
