Abstract

The aim of the study is to evaluate in vitro the different filling materials and cleaning agents on root dentin of primary teeth in durability of the adhesive interface of glass fiber post. Two hundred and seventy roots of primary bovine teeth will be selected and endodontically prepared according to the protocol proposed in Pediatric Dentistry area of FOP/UNICAMP. The roots will be distributed in four groups according to the filling materials (90 teeth): 1-Control (no material), 2-Calen® paste + zinc oxide; 3-Vitapex® past. After 7 days, the filling materials will be removed and subdivided according to the cleaning agents (30 teeth): A-No cleaning (control), B-ethanol, C-Tergenform®. Glass fiber post will be lute using the resin cement RelyX ARC® after acid etching, rising and application of the adhesive system Adper Single Bond 2®. After 7 days, specimens will be randomly distributed and prepared for marginal adaptation and push-out test (n=30), analysis of the adhesive interface by nanoleakage test (n=30) and confocal laser scanning (n=10). In addition, specimens will be subject to degradation in 24 hours (T1), 6 months (T2) and 12 months (T3). The results of marginal adaptation, push-out, nanoleakage tests and confocal laser scanning microscopy will be subjected to parametric and nonparametric tests with 5% level of significance. After the bond strength evaluation, the specimens will be analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) to classify the fractures pattern: adhesive interface and cohesive. For the adhesive interface analysis (SEM and confocal laser scanning microscopy) the results will be showed as a descriptive analysis. (AU)
