Abstract

This research is a deepening of research previously funded by FAPESP and treated matrices of thought geomorphological in Brazil. Now we will deepen the topic, analyzing the consolidation of core / geomorphology research groups in the departments of geography, situated in major universities. The theoretical framework used will be the cultural capital developed by Pierre Bourdieu and which was used by Lenoir Thimmoty for studies on the consolidation of research groups in Germany in the early twentieth century. This theoretical perspective, besides breaking issue of internalism and externalism in the sociology of science, puts on the agenda for discussion the question of political conflict and strategies of cores / ofPesquisa groups against each other, to consolidate his vision of geomorphology . On the other hand, offers the possibility of analyzing the political struggle of groups / research centers in geomorphology and options regarding academic policies and departments of geography. (AU)
