Use of ashes from the burning of agro-industrial residues in the production of fiber based composites for the rural construction

Nowadays there are several studies in progress regarding the possible recycling of agro-industrial residues as pozzolanic addition in substitution to the ordinary Portland cement. There are advantages for the environmental protection by the utilization of wastes generally available in great amounts and without a defined application; and also economical advantages, with the partial substitution of clinker based cement using a residual material of reduced cost. Advantageous results are also expected in the technical field with the enhancement of physical, mechanical and durability related characteristics of the cement based materials using such residues.
