Electromyographic, dynamometric and kinematic variables analysis in treadmill running incremental protocol

Abstract

The muscular fatigue is one of the most important factors of injuries during run. Therefore, to analyze its development by biomechanics variables simultaneously during running is an alternative of preventing those injuries, diagnosis physical capacity and to follow up programs of training or rehabilitation. Based in this, the aims of this study are to analyze electromyographic (EMG), dynamometric and kinematic variables during incremental running treadmill test, and to identify the electromyographic fatigue thresholds (EMGFT) of the trunk and lower limb muscles bilaterally as well; to correlate the biomechanic variables with blood lactate concentration with endurance time in each test. Twenty (20) health male volunteers will participate, with age between 18 and 30 years, subdivided in two groups: the control group (CG) (n = 10) constituted of sedentary, and the trained group (TG) (n = 10) constituted of runners. The running protocol will be carried through in a treadmill equipped with force platform (AMTI) in three different days with minimum interval of 48 hours. The heart rate (HR) will be acquired by Polar; for kinematic analysis a 3D analysis system (Peak Motus) will be used, and for EMG signal acquisition a telemetry system (Noraxon) will be used.
