Abstract

This project has two main goals. One of them focuses the relationships among Antropology, Photography and Cinema. This is a relationship that began when the photographic camera, the cinematographer and Anthropology as a discipline were invented. If the first encounters between Anthropology and these new techniques for reproduction of images stressed the discovery of the many possibilities of contact contagion, a hundred years later the tensions are as many as the effective approximations among these areas. One of the purposes of this project is to analyze experience of mutual appropriation among them through an anthropological perspective and also to try the possibilities of this encounter through the achievement of ethnographic films and photographic essays. The second goal is more related to what is conventionally called the anthropology of art. The purpose in this line of research is to analyze the audiovisual achievement in scope of the production of anthropological knowledge as an expression of the dialogue between the classic anthropological theory and the many other fields of Antropology as the anthropology of art, ethno aesthetics and related fields as visual and theatrical arts.
