Abstract

Prof. Michael Löwy's visit to Unicamp is connected with the project "communist intellectuals and artists in the consolidation of the intellectual field and cultural industry in Brazil," by Prof. Marcelo Ridenti.The participation of Prof. Löwy is also linked to six PhD projects in progress under the direction of Ridenti, five of them with grants from FAPESP, and other activities involving professors and students of Graduate Program in Sociology IFCH/Unicamp. The planned activities include involvement in actions of investigative character, participation in research seminars planned for the months of October and November 2013, discussions with colleagues and graduate students. They will be complemented by events of a general nature, open to a wider public, particularly teachers and students at IFCH/Unicamp. (AU)
