Abstract
This book contributes to the study of Brazilian society in the 1930s and 1940s. Through research on documents discovered both abroad and in Brazil, in particular, documents of the Itamaraty reveal racism and anti-Semitism introspective in some circles of the Brazilian elite, being therefore essential for the analysis of the construction of Vargas politics about the political-immigrant project of an authoritarian government.
